Miami launches defense of its Class 3A American Legion state title Friday when it hosts Claremore and Skiatook in regional play at Joe Pollock Field.
Claremore and Skiatook play in the 3 p.m. opener, then Post 147 tackles the winner at 6 p.m.
The two losers on the first day play at noon Saturday with the winners squaring off at 3 p.m. in the championship game.
A second game to determine who moves on will be played at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Miami swept Vinita 4-1 and 11-9 in district play at Pollock Field last year.
Then in the state tournament at Vinita, Post 147 held off Wilburton 18-12 in the championship game.
Miami had topped Wilburton 2-1 in the first round. Wilburton then eliminated Seminole to set up the rematch with Post 147.
The state title was the first ever in American Legion competition for Miami and marked its first in high school-aged competition since Miami High School won the Class 3A championship in 1987.
