A silent auction, held in conjunction with Wednesday’s Buffalo Run Casino Classic pro-am tournaments, will benefit The Harbor.

A homeless shelter, The Harbor has been designated as the charitable organization to benefit from BRCC, Miami’s stop on the NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tournament which runs Thursday through Sunday at Peoria Ridge Golf Course.

Throughout the week, The Harbor can take advantage of several opportunities for additional fundraising.  One of those events is the silent auction.

This year, the auction will be to the community as well as pro-am participants.

Items will be displayed in the Peoria Showplace at the Buffalo Run Casino between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Bidders may also note their phone numbers on the bid sheet if they would like representatives of The Harbor to keep them advised of the status of their bid until the auction closes at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night, following the close of the pro-am tournament’s award presentations.

Individuals and businesses throughout the community and tri-state area have donated a variety of items.

Oklahoma State University fans may be interested in a packet of golf memorabilia, including the pairings sheet from the 2008 U.S. Open, signed by both Kevin Tway and Rickie Fowler, at which they became the first freshman duo in history (from the same college golf team) to play in a U.S. Open; an autographed 8-inch by 10-inch photo of Hunter Mahan during the final round of 2003 NCAA Championship held at Karsten Creek in Stillwater; an autographed 8-inch by 10-inch photo of the 2006 NCAA Champion OSU Cowboys; a program from the 2008 Ben Hogan Award Ceremony signed by Rickie Fowler who was the first freshman in history to win the award; and a Golf Digest magazine with Charles Howell III on the cover also signed by him.
