HENRYETTA — The Miami boys and Wyandotte’s girls have qualified for state cross-country competition.
The Wardogs placed seventh in the Class 4A.
Wyandotte’s girls were fifth in 2A competition.
The top seven teams and top seven individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the state meets, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech in Shawnee.
Miami’s boys finished with 65 points.
Their placers included Andrew Acupan, 23rd, 4:07.2; Bo Smith, 30th, 4:15.5; Ryan Hackett 44th, 4:24.4; Kolton Browning, 45th, 4:24.9, and Jonas Beardon, 64th, 4:56.9.
The Lady Bears picked up 177 points.
Kallie Morisset was 22nd with a time of 4:46.4, followed by Ally Bartley, 24th, 4:49.1; Abby Mensink, 40th, 5:06.0; Jennelle Lundien, 5:08.9, and Kaylee Barton, 48th, 5:13.4.
The Miami girls wound up 10th with 280 points.
Times for the Lady Wardogs included Mary Marugu, 48th, 5:10.6; Elle Savig, 50th, 5:13.1; Ruthie Hammons, 53rd, 5:14.21; Shelby Hubbard, 57, 5:19.7 and Kiah Payton, 72nd, 5:43.0.
Wyandotte’s boys scored 282 points to finish 12th in the 2A boys’ competition.
Justus Robertson wound up 27th by posting a time of 4:03.5, followed by Noah Sloan, 50th, 4:19.3; Helawa Williams, 56th, 4:23.2; Clint Palmer, 58th, 4:24,5, and Ethan Bradley, 91st, 5:29.0.
