MIAMI — Northeastern Oklahoma A&M dropped a pair of 1-0 games to Rose State College Thursday, Oct 4, at Red Robertson Field.

An own goal put Rose State up midway through the first half of the women’s match.

The Raiders broke a scoreless draw with about 30 minutes remaining in the men’s game.

This was NEO’s fifth loss by a single goal for the Lady Norse. They also have lost twice by two goals and battled Murray State to a scoreless draw over 110 minutes.

"We've had so many close games,” Bell said. “We've had games we controlled a majority of the minutes then lost the lead and ultimately the game. We have to start and finish. We have the start down. We’re still working on the finish.”

Both teams worked hard on both sides of the ball but neither were able to score again, according to Bell.

"Our shooting percentage on frame hasn't been the best so we've spent a lot of time here lately working on that,” she said. “We were 100 percent on target today. Now we need to put a few of those in the back of the net."

In the men’s match, the teams battled to a scoreless draw over the first 40 minutes, then Rose State found the back of the net off a crossed ball to the center of the box.

The Raiders’ attacker then put away the shot.

The Lady Norse (4-7-1) are fifth in the Region II standings at 2-5-1.

NEO’s men (4-9) are fourth with a 1-5 record.

The top four teams qualify for the Region 2 Tournament that will be played here Oct. 27-28.
