YUKON — Southwest Covenant, ranked second in Class C by the Associated Press, improved to 4-0 on the season with a 47-0 victory over Bluejacket here Thursday, Sept. 20.

The game was moved up a night since inclement weather was in the forecast.

The game, which marked the District C-3 debut for both teams, ended at the half.

The Patriots led 33-0 at the half.

“We could have played with them,” Bluejacket coach Lee Bluejacket said. “We had opportunities to gain an advantage like when they muffed the opening onside kick and we didn’t hustle. The same thing on a punt, where we didn’t hustle after they muffed it.”

Bluejacket (2-2) was limited to 51 yards in total offense, including just 2 on the ground.

Quarterback Coy McGlasson completed 5 of 12 passes for 49 yards.

He and Charles Speigel each had 2 yards rushing and Hunter Teich lost 2 yards on his only carry.

Keegan Francis caught two passes for 33 yards while Gabe Arrevillagas and Speigel each had one catch for 6 yards each.

Kadan Tipton had the other reception for 4 yards.

The Chieftains (2-2) had only 19 total tackles in the game.

Arrevillagas accounted for six of those, three solo and 3 assisted.

“Missed tackles and not staying on blocks was the biggest thing,” Lee Bluejacket said. “We will definitely be working on that all week.”
