COMMERCE — Hulbert’s Kaitlyn Moore had 20 strikeouts and allowed only two walks while helping Hulbert sweep a District 2A-8 fast pitch double-header from Commerce Monday, Sept. 10.

Hulbert won the opener 8-1 and the nightcap 5-0.

Moore fanned 12 and walked one in the opener, then came back with eight strikeouts and one walk in Game 2.

The Lady Riders got single runs in the first, second, third and fifth and carried a 4-1 lead into the sixth, when they scored four times.

CHS got its only run in the fourth.

Dawn Convirs had two singles, Sunny Crawford a double and Ashley Barton and Rhyane Hallett a single each for the Lady Tigers.

Hulbert collected 12 hits in the game. Medlin and C.J. Bowlin each had a double and single and Channon Rankin added pair of singles to head up the Lady Rider offense.

Moore pitched a four-hit shutout in Game 2. That’s her fourth shutout in seven starts.

Hulbert broke out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and added single tallies in the fourth and sixth.

Morgan Connell, Marisa Scott, Crawford and Cali Wells each had a single for the Lady Tigers’ only hits.

Katy Medlin belted a homer and doubled for Hulbert while Rankin added two singles.
