JAY — Miami jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and coasted to a 5-1 win over Jay here Tuesday, Aug. 28.

The Lady Wardogs added a single run in the sixth and plated two more in the seventh.

Their first two runs came on a single by Jordan Davis and a popup by Jordan Quapaw.

A groundout by Jessie Ishmael drove in Beca Hopping in the sixth. She had drilled a one-out triple.

MHS’ final two runs came on a single by Kori Robison and a base hit from Lauren Willard.

Jay’s only run came in the seventh inning.

Willard had a double and single and winning pitcher Abby Ishmael collected two singles.

Hopping tripled and Davis, Jessie Ishmael, Alexa Payne and Robison all added singles.

Abby Ishmael limited Jay to six hits. She walked one and struck out two.
