FAIRLAND — A two-out single in the top of the ninth inning drove in what turned out to be the winning run for Chouteau in the first game of a District 2A-8 fast pitch softball game here Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Chouteau claimed a 4-2 win in the nightcap.

The Lady Owls crushed Ketchum 27-1 in district play Monday, Aug. 20.

Fairland had taken a 1-0 lead in the third inning of Game 1.

Scout Mayfield doubled home Kyndall Davis, who had reached on an error.

Chouteau tied the game in the top of the fifth.

A single to right by Jade Carver gave the Lady Wildcats the lead in the top of the ninth.

Fairland was retired in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Mayfield had a double and single and Davis added two singles for Fairland.

Makynzi Jones and Jordan Gates chipped in with a single each for the Lady Owls.

Chouteau 4, Fairland 2

Chouteau was up 3-0 after the first then added its fourth run in the second.

Kyndall Davis had a leadoff homer in the third for the Lady Owls’ first run.

Their second tally came in the sixth.

Morgan Chaney was FHS’ leading hitter with a double and two singles.

Grace Goins added a triple.

Fairland 27, Ketchum 1

Alexis McGranahan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBIs for the Lady Owls.

Ketchum got its only run in the top of the first inning.

Fairland countered with three runs in its first then exploded for 16 runs in the second.

Twenty batters went to the plate for the Lady Owls.

Fairland picked up another five in the third inning and plated a final four in the fourth.

McGranahan delivered two doubles and a single during her six RBI day.

She also scored once and walked once.

Gates finished up with three base hits and Mayfield picked up a pair of singles.

Ryleigh Homan doubled and Goins, Jenna Morgan, Chaney and Jones all finished with a single.
