OKLAHOMA CITY — Miami’s stay at the Class 4A state tennis tournament was a brief one.

The 1 doubles team of Chloe and Clarissa Walters and the 2 doubles team of Kaitlyn Youngberg and Megan Jurgensmeyer suffered back-to-back losses during play here Friday, April 4.

Walters and Walters lost to No. 8 seed Neci Cobb and Lauren Jones of Elk City, 6-0, 6-1.

They were eliminated with a 6-0, 7-6 loss to Hannah Madden and Madison Stone of Tecumseh.

Jurgensmeyer and Youngberg dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Aimee Pham and Thulan Pham of Oklahoma City Classen School of Advanced Studies.

Catherine Hensley and Kate Dowdell of Clinton coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 win to oust Jurgensmeyer and Youngberg.

Hensley and Dowdell went on to finish fifth.
