WYANDOTTE — Closing out the regular season on a losing note, Wyandotte dropped a 6-2 decision to McDonald County High School of Anderson, Missouri, here Monday, March 30.

The Bears used the game as a tune-up for their Class 2A regional at Ketchum.

They battled Quapaw in the opening round, Thursday, May 3.

McDonald County jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning and pulled away.

The Mustangs tacked on single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

Wyandotte picked up a single run in the third and another in the fourth on errors.

Cole Dixon had two doubles and Brendan Cooper and Ethan McLaughlin chipped in with a single each.

Tyler Stoutsenberger collected a pair of singles for McDonald County.

Izak Johnson and Oakley Roessler each had a double and Boston Dowd, Charley Moore, Jorden Platter and James King added singles.

The Bears used four pitchers: Cody Teal, McLaughlin, Blaze Cole and Dixon.

Teal threw the first 2.1 innings and yielded two hits He gave up three runs, but all were unearned.

McLaughlin worked 2.2, scattering four hits. He surrendered two runs and struck out six and walked one.

Dixon and Cole each pitched an inning.
