STROUD — The Welch girls rolled to the team title at the Class A track regional here Saturday, April 28.
The Lady Wildcats will send seven individuals to the state meet at Western Heights.
Addison Chenoweth and Jaeli Jorgenson are four-event qualifiers: Chenoweth in the 200, 400, 4x100-meter relay are 4x200 relay, and Jorgenson in the high jump, long jump, 4x1 and 4x2.
Cheyenne Johns has qualified in the 100-meter hurdles and 4x100 relay.
Jaci Clinton and Olivia Pitcher could be two-event qualifiers: Clinton in the 1,600 and 3,200 and Pitcher in the shot put and discus.
Clinton was third in the 3,200 at 12:58.75 and fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:58.30.
Pitcher was third in the shot put with a throw of 31-3.5. She also was fourth in the discus at 80-3.
If their performances are better than that of a third-place finisher at one of the other three regionals, they will qualify.
The Lady Wildcats won the regional team title with 96 points.
Davenport was a distant second with 64 points, followed by Pond Creek-Hunter with 55 and Regent Prep, 54.
Jorgenson was a double individual regional champ, taking the high jump at 5-0 and the long jump by soaring 15-3.25.
Addison Chenoweth won the 400 with a time of 1:00.66 and she was second in the 200 at 26.85.
Chenoweth won gold in the 400 a year ago.
Jorgenson, Johns, Gilman and Chenoweth were third in the 4x100 relay
Jorgenson, Perkins, Gilman and Chenoweth had the third-place time in the 4x200 relay, 1:53.81.
The Lady Wildcats’ 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams were fifth with times of 4:50.45 and 11:46.35.
Jessi Pitcher was seventh in the discus at 69-4.
Tristan Davis was the only placer for the Welch boys, taking sixth in the discus at 108-9.
