CATOOSA — Miami senior Rebecca Bell is a four-event state track and field meet qualifier for the third straight year.

She finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dash and was a member of the Lady Wardogs’ winning 4x100-meter relay team during 4A regional competition here Saturday,

April 28.

She won the 100 Saturday with a time of 12.66 seconds and the 200 at 26.17 seconds.

Emie Haile, Qimeng Li, Makiya Reid and Bell teamed up to win the 4x100 relay at 51.40 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team (Reid, Leah Evans, Madison Smith and Bell) was fourth with a time of 4:78.99, but still qualified for the state meet.

Bell qualified in three of the same events as a junior — finishing second in the 200 and third in the 100 — and the 100, 200 and 4x200 relay when she was a sophomore.

As a freshman, she was a qualifier in the 200.

Haile was fourth in the 100 Saturday at 13.29 and Reid sixth at 13.74.

They were first, fourth and six in the preliminaries. Bell’s time was 12.73 seconds while Haile and Reid posted times of 13.47 and 13.52, respectively.

In the 200 prelims, Bell was first (26.24), Haile 13th (28.96) and Reid 15th (29.45).

Results in other girls’ events for the Lady Wardogs were:

400 — Evans, eighth, 1;06.56; Alyssa Pendergraft, 11th, 1:09.85

800 — Smith, eighth, 2:41.11; Jolea Johnson, 11th, 2:54.65

Long jump — Farrah Armstrong, sixth, 15-2; Hailey Fields, 11th, 10-10

Discus — Chloe Preaus, 17th, 63-2; Claire Coyne, 21st, 51-2; Abby Keller, 23rd, 40-8.5

Shot put – Lily Jackson, ninth, 30-2; Alyssa Johnson, 12th, 27-7; Coyne, 20th, 23-3

The best finish for the MHS boys was in the 4x100 relay. The Wardogs had a time of 48.46 seconds.

They were timed in 46.99 in the preliminaries.

Results in other boys’ events for Miami were:

100 — Gavin Payton, 15th, 12.24; Damian Burris, 22nd, 12.61; Zach Cravens, 26th, 14.06

4x200 relay — seventh, 1:39.03

Discus — Destry Allen, 12th, 93-2; Trenton Spunaugle, 19th, 73-11

Shot put — Allen, ninth, 39-8; Spunaugle, 17th, 34-4.

The 4A state meet will be Friday and Saturday at Moore.
