MIAMI — Coach Chris Crosbie will be among those converging on Miami for a reunion of the Wardogs’ 1987 4A state championship team on Tuesday, April 10.

“I am looking forward it,” Crosbie said. “It’s the only Tuesday that we don’t play.”

Crosbie also guided the Wardogs to a runner-up finish in 1990 and the semifinals in 1992.

He was coach at Moore for eight years, then moved to Westmoore as athletic director before retiring from the Oklahoma public school system.

Mostly recently, he has been athletic director and head baseball coach at Mount Saint Mary’s in Oklahoma City.

A ceremony honoring the team — and the presentation of their jerseys — will be at 4 p.m. and Crosbie will throw out the first pitch just prior to the 5 p.m. start of the District 4A-5 game with Oologah.

“Janell (Crosbie’s wife) is coming, too,” he said. “They were her kids before we even had kids.”

Players who are attending are Jamie Williams, Carter Mackey, Phil Lamb, Bless Parker, Jason Pogue, Steve Hill, Rick Boyer, Bobby Homer, Keith Sedberry and Greg Lamb.

Several others on the team will be represented by family members.

The reunion is the mastermind of Parker, Williams and Miami athletic director Chad Davis.
