COMMERCE — Wyandotte will face Haskell in the Comet Division championship game of the Mickey Mantle Classic.

Weather permitting, the game will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at Mickey Mantle Field.

A pair of Missouri teams — Neosho and McDonald County — square off in the Triple Crown final, which follows at 4 p.m.

Miami and District 4A-5 rival Locust Grove meet at noon in the Triple Crown Division third-place game.

Commerce and the Neosho JV play at 10 a.m. for third place in the Comet Division.

Three consolation games will be at Joe Becker Stadium in Joplin: Afton vs. Fairland, noon; Sarcoxie, Missouri, vs. Quapaw, 2 p.m., and Tahlequah Sequoyah vs. Diamond, Missouri, 4 p.m.

A final three pool games were played Friday at Joe Becker: Neosho JV 10, Quapaw 2 (five innings; Neosho 3, Sequoyah 0 (eight innings) and Miami 13, Sequoyah 1.

The Comet Division final pits the 12th-ranked team in Class 2A (Wyandotte) against 2A’s No. 14 team (Haskell).

The Bears beat Fairland, 11-10; lost to Quapaw, 4-2, and slipped by the Neosho JV, 5-2.

Haskell (13-3) blanked Commerce 4-0, then topped Sarcoxie, 6-3, and Afton, 4-1.

This marks the third straight year for Wyandotte to play in a Mantle Classic final.

The Bears fell to Neosho 10-2 in the Triple Crown final last year and beat the Neosho JV 7-1 to take the 2016 Comet championship.
