CLAREMORE — The Miami boys picked up their first win of the season when they coasted to a 3-0 win over Claremore Sequoyah here Tuesday, March 27.

Skyler Judd scored twice and Reagan Allemann had the other goal.

“It should have been 3-0 at the half,” Miami coach David Douthit said. “We played pretty well. We were a little rusty from spring break.”

That was the Wardogs’ first match since a 3-2 loss to Ponca City on March 15 at Red Robertson Field.

Miami now is 1-5 overall and 1-1 in 4A-8. The Dogs and Commerce are tied for third place the district.

Grove and Tulsa Webster are tied for the district lead at 1-0.

Girls: Sequoyah 3, Miami 0

The loss was the second straight and third loss of the season by shutout for the Lady Wardogs (2-4, 1-1).

“We had a lot of chances,” Miami coach Kenton Adams said. “We just couldn’t finish. We played really poor defense in the first half and gave up three goals. We did much better defensively in the second half.

“We had about four one-on-ones with the keeper, but didn’t capitalize.”
