MIAMI — More than 100 golfers will be on the course Monday, April 26 for the Miami Invitational Golf Tournament at Peoria Ridge.
Twenty-one different schools from three states are entered, including defending champ St. Mary’s Colgan of Pittsburg.
Other Kansas schools expected are Pittsburg High Labette County High of Altamont, Columbus and Chanute.
Arkansas will be represented by Providence Academy of Rogers.
Claremore will enter two teams.
Others from Oklahoma include Fairland, Grove, Vinita, Fort Gibson, Wagoner, Catoosa, Nowata, Ketchum, Pryor, Hilldale, Oologah, Poteau, Cleveland and the host Wardogs.
St. Mary’s-Colgan of Pittsburg, Kansas, had three of the top six individuals and coasted to the team title of last year’s tournament, winning by 10 strokes over Cushing.
Miami, which had won the tournament in 2016, was third at 352.
The tournament will mark the season debut for the Wardogs.
Peoria Ridge will host a 4A regional on April 30.
