WELCH — Ethan McLaughlin had a three-hit shutout as 2A No. 10 Wyandotte coasted to a 4-0 baseball win over Welch here Monday, March 19.

McLaughlin struck out 14 and walked only one over seven innings.

The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth, when the Bears (5-1) got all of their runs with two outs.

Wyandotte broke through on an RBI single by Cody Teal, and then Ryan Cooper delivered a bases-loaded triple.

Wyandotte left four runners at third base over the course of the game and left seven stranded total.

The Bears lost a runner at home in the sixth on a force play.

Welch stranded five, including four at second base.

Ryan Cooper and Jordon Burney each had a triple, Brendan Cooper doubled and Teal added his RBI single.

Gunner Johnson collected a double and single for the Wildcats, who also got a single from Dalton Duede.

Eli Gilman worked 5 1/3 innings for Welch, allowing three hits and two runs.

He logged four strikeouts and three walks.

Jake Peterson finished up, yielding one hit and two runs. He fanned one and walked one.
