SOUTH COFFEYVILLE — Scoring runs in four of the first five innings, Welch rolled to a 13-2 win over South Coffeyville here Friday, March 9.

The second game was cancelled when the lighting at the Lions’ field went out.

Each team scored in the first and third innings with the Wildcats (2-2) holding a 6-2 lead.

Welch picked up two more runs in the fourth then closed things out with a five-run rally in the fifth.

Brady Chenoweth picked up the win for the Cats. He fanned eight and walked three while working around six hits.

Seth Hayward went 4-for-4 at the plate for the Cats while driving in three runs.

Nate Beaty contributed two singles, Jake Peterson doubled and Gunner Johnson, Dalton Duede, Daniel Windle and Brady Chenoweth all had a single.


The Wildcats play their next three games on the road, at Commerce Saturday, March 10; at Regent Prep Monday, March 12, and at Quapaw Tuesday, March 13.
