WYANDOTTE — Wrapping up the regular season on a winning note, Wyandotte swept Fairland here Monday, Feb. 12.
The Lady Bears coasted to a 46-27 victory before Wyandotte’s boys rolled 92-42.
That marked the fourth time the Bears have scored 90-plus points in a game.
Wyandotte, ranked 18th in Class 2A, broke out to a 25-9 lead in the opening frame and never looked back.
The Bears (19-4) were up 43-17 at intermission then came back in the second half to outscore Fairland 25-16 and 24-9.
Ryan Cooper had a game-high 29 points for the Bears. He nailed 10 field goals, including five 3-point goals, and converted on four of his five free throw chances.
Branden Cooper added 24 and Jordon Burney finished with 14.
Others with points for Wyandotte were Trey Jones with eight, Cody Teal, six; Ethan Bradley and Korbyn Rush, four each, and Jacob Burney, three.
The Owls (8-13) picked up 11 from James Morris and 10 from Isaac Matthews, followed by Brian Padberg, six; Thatcher Smalley, five; Cole Cawlfield, four, and Trey Martin and Cayden Elliott, three each.
Girls: Wyandotte 46, Fairland 27
The Lady Bears (17-5) stretched an 11-6 first-quarter lead into a 26-14 halftime advantage.
Wyandotte carried a 20-point lead into the half thanks to a 16-8 margin in the third frame.
The Lady Bears had two players reach double figures: Tarrah Stephens with 20 and Makinze Powell with 11.
Others with points were Aranda Nair, six; Jillian Swonger, four; Haley Hart and Kali Thompson, two each, and Kyah Kingfisher, one.
The scoring for Fairland (9-12) was led by Nikki Dingle with eight points.
Others with points for the Lady Owls were Ciara Allen, seven; Cayden Harper, six; Kyndall Davis, four; Jessica Roberts, two.
It’s the Class 2A playoffs for both schools.
Wyandotte will be in District 6 play at Oklahoma Union: girls vs. Quapaw, 6:30 p.m. Friday; boys vs. OU-Quapaw winner, 8 p.m. Saturday.
Fairland will be in District 8 at Ketchum: girls vs. Ketchum vs. Fairland girls, 6:30 p.m. Friday; boys vs. Porter, 8 p.m. Friday.
