WYANDOTTE — A 37-15 win over Commerce helped the Wyandotte Lady Bears grab a share of the lead in the Lucky 7 Conference.

Wyandotte, Welch and Ketchum all are 9-1 in league play.

The Wyandotte boys completed the sweep by topping CHS 62-46.

The Lady Bears broke open a two-point game with a 17-2 run in the second quarter.

Commerce held a 5-4 edge in the third frame only to have Wyandotte nail down the win with an 8-2 run over the final eight minutes.

Tarrah Stephens was the scoring leader for the Lady Bears (17-4) with 15 points.

Makinze Powell added seven points, followed by Aranda Nair, five; Kallie Morisset, four, and Haley Hart, Grace Parmley and Kylee Severs, two each.

The Lady Tigers (3-16) picked up six from River Field, four from Dawn Convirs, three from Marissa Scott and two from Morgan Connell.

Boys: Wyandotte 62, Commerce 46

The Bears were up by 10 after one then outscored Commerce 15-7 in the second period.

Wyandotte, ranked 18th in 2A and 18-3 on the season, pushed the lead to 26 with an 18-10 run in the third then the Tigers created the final margin with a 15-5 run in the fourth.

The Bears had three players score in double figures, topped by Ryan Cooper with 23.

Trey Jones added 14 and Jacob Burney chipped in with 10.

The Bears also got nine points from Brendan Cooper, three from Jordon Burney, two from Justin Campbell and one from Noah Sloan.

Commerce (11-8) got point from 10 different players, topped by Ty Jauert with nine.

Danny Salinas and Hunter Burkybile got six each, Paco Rodriguez and Bryar Chandler scored five apiece, Lupe Prado and Cruz Munson each tallied four, Oscar Gutierrez and Ryan Dunbar contributed three each and Zaine Cheater added a free throw.
