MIAMI — Falling victim to another early scoring burst by the opposition, the Miami girls suffered a 58-23 loss to Oologah Friday, Feb. 2 at the Miami Activity Center.

The Lady Mustangs broke out to a 9-0 lead in the first 3:12 and never looked back.

Oologah led 22-4 after the first quarter then coasted into the half with a 34-16 advantage.

The Lady Mustangs got the first 12 points of the second half and bumped their lead to 30, 46-16.

It was 50-20 heading into the fourth quarter.

Miami’s scoring leader was Rebecca Bell with six.

Shelby Hubbard tallied five, followed by Mary Gilbert and Abby Osborn with four each and Bayleigh Beckwith and Malarie Thompson chipped in with two each.

Karly Wadsworth finished with a game-high 24 points for Oologah (14-6). She got 13 of that in the first quarter and 19 in the first half.

Avery Cluck chipped in with 13.


The Lady Wardogs (0-18) finish out the regular season at home with Jay, Tuesday, Feb. 6; Hilldale, Friday, Feb. 9, and Claremore Sequoyah, Feb. 12.
