FOYIL — A 20-6 burst in the second quarter helped the Fairland boys glide to a 52-35 win over Foyil here Friday, Jan. 26.

Foyil earned a split on the night by logging a 50-36 win in the girls’ game.

The Owls were only up by four points following the first quarter, but its second-period burst created a 35-17 advantage.

Fairland bumped its lead to 44-25 in the third frame then held on over the final eight minutes.

Fairland (7-9) got 13 points from James Morris, 11 from Isaac Matthews, nine from Thatcher Smalley, eight from Cole Cawlfield, five from Trey Martin. four from Cayden Elliott, and two from Andrew Barker.

Mason Webb was the Panthers’ leader with 14 points.

Girls: Foyil 50, Fairland 36

The Lady Panthers outscored Fairland in each of the four quarters to get their 10th win.

It was 9-6 after one, 20-15 at the break and 41-30 going into the final eight minutes.

Nikki Dingle led the way offensively for Fairland (6-10) with 13 points.

Others scoring for the Lady Owls were Kyndall Davis, nine; Ciaira Allen, eight; Savannah Hutchison, four, and Makayla Jackson, two.

Morgan Valliere had 24 points for the Lady Panthers (10-9), who also got 11 from Mattison Otis.
