MUSKOGEE — Afton breezed to the overall team title at a power lifting meet hosted by Hilldale High School.

The Eagles had six first-place finishers and a second while rolling up 246 points.

Placing first for the Eagles were Kaden Gibson, 123-pound class, 770 total pounds; Jacob Barton, 181, 1,125; Briar Julian, 198, 1,245; Zach Henry, 242, 1,300; Seth Miller, 275, 1,505, and Trever Pendergraft, heavyweight, 1,375.

Tate Maupin was second in the heavyweight division with 1,280 pounds.

Others placing in the tournament were fifth, Samantha Saylor, 123, 590; Weston Amos, 157, 860, and Jesse Saylor, 168, 785; Sixth, Brandon Coombes, 220, 181, 830; Braeden Gaines, 1,055, and Kode Sala, 242, 880; Seventh, Kohl Gaines, 275, 855; Eighth Patrick Hallacy, 157, 745; Ninth, Keegan Richardson, 675, heavyweight; 10th, Heston Riddle, 220, 1,100.

Others competing for Afton were Hailee Sherod, 123; Kevin Thomas and Ragan Hudson, 145; Trey Ellis, 157, and Noah Ferguson, 275.

Kiefer was second in the team standings with 196 points, Panama third at 189 and Kansas fourth at 168.

Placing for Afton’s eighth graders were Logan McPhetridge, first at 145 with 640 pounds and Dallas Mullikin, third at 114 with 475 pounds.

Brandon Coombes and Thomas were first in the freshman division with 820 and 705 pounds, respectively.

Riddle was second in the freshman 220-pound division with 960 pounds total.

Both the freshmen and eighth graders finished fifth in their respective divisions.

The Eagle seventh grade team was seventh.
