MIAMI — The 4-States Winter Shoot-Out youth basketball tournament will take place on Saturday, Jan. 13 and Sunday, Jan. 14.

Games will tip off at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Miami Activity Center and the Miami High School gym.

At 11 a.m., games will begin at the Glen Wolfe Student Activity Center on the campus of NEO A&M College.

Twenty-two youth basketball teams from across the 4-States have entered to compete in the tournament.

The tournament will feature players from fifth and sixth grades from Galena, Kansas; Parsons, Kansas; Riverton, Kansas, Joplin, Miami, Wyandotte, Vinita, Pryor, Collinsville, Stillwater, Bixby, Sand Springs, Muskogee, Broken Arrow and Commerce.

Saturday’s games will be pool play to determine seeding for single-elimination bracket play that will take place on Sunday.

First place teams of each division will receive championship rings.

Second place teams of each division will receive medals.

A weekend pass for all games in all gyms is $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 4-12).

Single day tickets for games at all three sites are $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Concessions will be available during the tournament.

There will be a 3-point contest on Saturday for players competing in the tournament.

Cost is $10 to enter and separate divisions for boys and girls will be offered. The winner will receive a basketball sculpture trophy.

The 3-point competition is at 1 p.m. at the Miami High School Gym and 6 p.m. at the Miami Activity Center.
