QUAPAW — A 21-point first quarter helped send the Oklahoma Union boys on their way to a 59-44 win over Quapaw in a non-conference basketball game here Tuesday, Nov. 21.

OU also notched a 34-25 win over Quapaw’s girls.

After falling behind 38-13 at the half, the Wildcats held a 31-21 advantage over the final two quarters.

They outscored the visitors 14-11 in the third period and 17-10 during the fourth.

The Cougars led 21-4 after the opening frame.

Chris Durbin had 11 points for Quapaw, which also got nine from Jordan Carolus, six each from Jonas Gregory and Kai Anderson, four from Kale Thomasson, three each from Matt Lovell and Kaleb Hoffman and two from Rex Burkybile.

Kohlsyn Gibson scored 23 and Hunter Harris added 12 for the Cougars.

Girls

The Lady Cougars led 12-8 after the opening frame and coasted into the half with a 15-12 advantage.

Oklahoma Union pulled away with an 11-2 run in the third quarter.

Quapaw created the final margin with an 11-8 edge over the last eight minutes.

Mya Nichols scored 13 points for the Lady Wildcats.

Karissa Anderson and Lu Attocknie had three points each and Chloe Tyner, Shea Otteson and Skyler Evans chipped in with two each.

E. Matthews tallied 15 points for Oklahoma Union.

Quapaw travels to Colcord Tuesday, Nov. 28.
