HULBERT — Hulbert running back Jacob Bruce accounted for five touchdowns as the Riders claimed a 49-12 victory over Quapaw here Friday, Oct. 13.

Bruce had 295 yards rushing on 20 carries

He scored on touchdown runs of 38 and 48 yards in the first quarter, 32 yards in the second and 32 yards in the fourth period, when he also reeled in a 62-yard TD pass.

Hulbert (6-1 overall and 3-0 in the district) rolled up 525 yards in total offense, getting 148 passing and 377 rushing.

This marked the second time the Riders scored 49 points in a game. They erupted for 62 in a shutout win over Warner.

Hulbert also got an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jon McGowen in the third quarter and a 54-yard romp from Trenton Justice in the fourth.

Roberto Landaverde was successful on all seven of his PAT kicks.

Quapaw (0-8 and 0-4) got a 70-yard touchdown run from Austin Crouch in the third quarter and a 43-yard run from Jonas Gregory in the fourth.

The conversion try failed both times.

Crouch netted 179 yards on 19 carries for the Wildcats.

Gregory added 62 yards on eight carries while Josh Curry had 59 yards on 12 attempts.

Gregory was 1 of 7 passing for 15 yards and Kale Thomasson was 2 of 6 for 2 yards.

Matt Lovell, Gregory and Logan Cripe each had a reception.

Defensively, Tanner Daniels logged six solo tackles and five assists while Anthony Moreno had two solos and four assists.

Cripe notched four solos.

McGowen completed 10 of 18 passes for 148 yards and the two scores.

The Wildcats travel to Barnsdall Thursday, Oct. 19, and then wrap up the season Friday, Nov. 3 at home with Afton.
