MIAMI — Spencer Tillman, who went from the University of Oklahoma to a successful career in broadcasting, will be the featured speaker at the second Legend Series banquet.

“An Evening with Spencer Tillman" is scheduled for 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16 in the Calcagno Family Ballroom of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M’s Bruce G. Carter Student Union.

The event, sponsored by Crossland Construction, benefits the Norse Campus Ministry and NEO athletics.

Tickets are $100 per person or $700 for a table of eight. Reservations are required and seating is limited.

Tillman earned All-American honors as a freshman at the University of Oklahoma and was co-captain on the Sooners’ 1985 national championship team.

He had 107 yards on seven carries, including a 77-yard TD romp that gave the Sooners an early 7-0 lead against Arkansas in the 1987 Orange Bowl.

Tillman played eight seasons in the NFL for the Houston Oilers and San Francisco 49ers.

He was co-captain on the San Francisco 49ers’ 1990 Super Bowl winners.

Tillman teams with Tim Brando on Fox Sports college football coverage. He had spent 16 years at CBS then moved to Fox in 2014.

Tillman also authored the book Scoring in the Red Zone: How to Lead Successfully When the Pressure Is On.”

Tom Osborne, former head football coach and athletic director at Nebraska and a three-term U.S. Representative from Nebraska, was the speaker at the first event, held in 2015.
