MUSKOGEE — Miami, Hilldale, Checotah and Cleveland make up the field for a Class 4A fast-pitch softball regional that begins here Thursday, Oct. 5.
The Lady Wardogs face Hilldale at noon while Checotah battles Cleveland at 2 p.m.
Miami (18-8) punched its regional ticket Thursday with a Bi-District 18 win over Mannford.
The Lady Pirates claimed an 8-6 win in the opening game but Miami came storming back to log 15-8 and 6-2 wins.
Hilldale (25-9) swept Roland 1-0 and 12-0 in Bi-District 17.
In Bi-District 19, Cleveland (27-9) swept Stilwell 12-0 and 10-1.
Checotah (22-13) pounded Catoosa 14-1 and 10-1 in Bi-District 20.
The two first-round losers play at 2 p.m. with the winners meeting at 4 p.m.
Friday’s noon opener is an elimination game with the championship at 2 p.m.
An “if necessary” game would follow at 4 p.m. with the winner moving on to the state tournament.
While the Lady Wardogs haven’t seen any of the other three teams, but Hilldale crushed Checotah 14-0 on Sept. 25 and
Cleveland beat Checotah 6-1 in the Oologah tournament.
Additional regional tournament will be played at Tuttle, Broken Bow, Newcastle, Perkins-Tryon, Elgin, Grove and Lone Grove.
Berryhill, Blackwell and Fort Gibson have been assigned to the field at Grove.
The state tournament will be played Oct. 12-14 at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
