MIAMI — Miami will host Mannford in the Class 4A Bi-District 18 fast-pitch softball tournament here Thursday.
First pitch in the best-of-three series will be at 1 p.m. at Harley Turner Field.
Additional games will be at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., if needed.
The Lady Wardogs romped to a 9-0 victory over Mannford in the season opener Aug. 8 in the Claremore Festival.
Miami grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning and pulled away.
Jordan Davis had three hits while Rebecca Bell and Phoenix Burrow collected two singles each.
“We beat them. However a lot can change throughout the year,” Miami coach Lauren Strack said. “It looks like they have played some people pretty close as of late.”
The Lady Wardogs (16-7) tied with Claremore Sequoyah for third in District 4A-6 at 9-5 record, but the Lady Eagles won the tie breaker with a run differential edge.
After dropping four in a row and five of six, Miami posted its third straight win Monday, Sept. 25 with a 7-5 decision against Vinita.
It topped Locust Grove 3-0 to start the streak then claimed a 5-2 win over Oologah, which finished second in 4A-6 play.
“I feel confident going into it though based on where we are at and how we are playing,” Strack said. “The girls have a lot of fight and a lot of momentum.”
Mannford, from District 4A-5, is 11-21.

Single runs in the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings provided the margin of difference for the Lady Wardogs.
Each team scored a run in the first then Vinita grabbed a 4-1 lead in the top of the third.
MHS countered with a four-run, two-out rally in its half of the third.
Abby Ishmael singled home a run, then with two out, Jessie Ishmael, Kori Robison and Phoenix Burrow delivered RBI singles.
The Lady Hornets tied the game at 5 in the top of the fourth.
An error on a ball hit by Rebecca Bell and a ground out to short by Abby Ishmael created the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth, then Bell singled home an insurance run in the sixth.
Jordan Quapaw and Abby Ishmael each had two singles for the Lady Wardogs.
Bell, Jessie Ishmael, Robison and Burrow each had a single.
Audrey Bedford had three singles for Vinita with Avery Bennett, Kaleigh Warren and Kennedy Roach each collecting two singles.
Lexi Melton had a double for the game’s only extra-base hit.
Abby Ishmael struck out four and walked five while yielding 12 hits.
