BARNDALL — Afton dropped both of its games in the Class A District 21 tournament at Barnsdall here Thursday, Sept. 21.

The Lady Eagles (10-18) were blanked by Barnsdall 10-0 and fell 10-5 to Woodland.

Barnsdall won all three of its games, beating Woodland 7-1 in the winners’ bracket final and 15-2 in the championship game.

Barnsdall 10, Afton 0

Winning pitcher Kinnley Bloomfield had eight strikeouts and two walks while blanking Afton on four hits.

The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning then put together three-run rallies in the second and third.

They picked up single runs in the fourth and fifth.

Carlee Shinn doubled and Savanna Mullikin, Ragan Hudson and Ashley Turley singled

Jasmine Shores had double and two singles to lead the Barnsdall offense. Bailey Walker had a double and single while Courtney Berry added two singles.

The Lady Eagles stranded runners second and third in the third and loaded in the fourth.

Woodland 10, Afton 5

The Lady Cougars spotted Afton a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but picked up two runs in their first at-bat.

Woodland tacked on a run in the third then rallied for four in the fifth inning and three in the sixth.

The Lady Eagles created the final margin in the top of the seventh.

Afton got a double and two singles from Layne Hudson, a double and single from Shinn, two singles from Sam Saylor and singles from Ragan Hudson and Taylie Burrow.

Woodland’s offense included seven singles, one each by Laramie Neff, Aubrey Cason, Payton Scott, Branna Keeler, Taytum Kelly, Faith Watts and Rachel Vulmann.

Neff struck out 12 and walked four.
