MIAMI — Taking advantage of two own goals by Seminole State College, Thursday, Sept. 14, the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Lady Norse soccer team snapped a five-match losing streak with a 2-1 victory at Red Robertson Field.

With the win, over the Division I Lady Trojans (3-2 and 1-1), the Division II Lady Norse are 1-2 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference action and 1-5 on the regular season.

Continuing play in Region II, the Lady Norse entertained No. 9 ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Lady Mavericks are 2-0 in the conference and 6-0 on the season.

Seminole yielded the own goal with 42:27 showing on the clock in the first half to provide NEO with a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Trojans tied the score at the 44:53 juncture on a goal by freshman defender Kennedy Franklin with an assist by freshman center Breezie Davis.

With 66:25 on the scoreboard, the Lady Norse received another own goal by the Lady Trojans to create a 2-1 victory.

Lady Norse goalie Madison Smith recorded six saves of seven total shots on goal.

Despite the two own goals, Seminole took 16 shots during the match compared to 10 by the Lady Norse.
