ADAIR — Wyandotte went 1-2 in pool play at the Adair Invitational softball tournament Thursday, Sept. 14.

The 2A No. 20 Lady Bears (17-10) fell 11-1 to 3A No. 9 Adair, dropped a 13-1 decision to Claremore Sequoyah and rolled 9-1 over Keys.

In other pool games it was Sequoyah 3, Keys 0; Sequoyah 7, Adair 5, and Adair 13, Keys 2.

The Lady Bears play for third place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

They will meet either Kansas, Oologah, the Union JV or Neosho, Missouri. Those four play their pool games Friday.

Adair 11, Wyandotte 1

The Lady Warriors broke out to a 1-0 lead in the first and added four more in the second.

Wyandotte’s only run came on a home run by Aranda Nair to lead off the third inning.

Adair countered that with two runs in its half of the fourth and generated a final four runs in the fourth.

Grace Parmley and Kylee Severs had two singles to head up Wyandotte’s offense.

Jennelle Lundien, Haley Hart and Elizabeth Mensink added single.

Sayge Vickrey had a triple and single while Rylie Looney added two singles for the Lady Warriors (18-6).

Atleigh Branham led off the Adair first with a home run. Lauren Booth, Jillian Whiteis and Grace Taylor each had a double while Allison Primeaux and Katie Huffman each had a single.

Claremore Sequoyah 13, Wyandotte 1

The Lady Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Hart stole home.

Sequoyah grabbed a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the first, scored six times in the second and picked up a final three in the third inning.

The Lady Bears had only two hits in the game off Kayleigh Jones: singles by Hart and Makinze Powell.

Bryanna Wilkins, Macey McClain and Harlee Wallin had two singles each while Callie Schultz, Brittany Wilkins and Ariel Thompson had a single each.

Jones had six strikeouts and no walks.

Wyandotte 9, Keys 1

The Lady Cougars went up 1-0 in the first inning, but Wyandotte scored six times in the second and three in the fourth to end the game.

Nair had two singles for WHS.

Mensink doubled and Lundien, Ally Bartley, Parmley and Kallie Morisset all had singles.

Danna Taylor had two singles for the Lady Cougars only hits against Mensink, who struck out seven and walked two.
