WYANDOTTE — Sending 17 batters to the plate and scoring 12 runs in the first inning, Wyandotte routed Oaks 15-0 here Thursday, Aug. 31.

The Lady Bears collected five hits, five walks and two hitters during the inning — both times left fielder Madelyn Branham.

Ally Bartley had a two-run double and single while Aranda Nair collected two singles.

Three runs scored on passed balls Jennelle Lundien plated a run with a fielder’s choice and Branham picked up an RBI with one of her HBPs.

Wyandotte tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the third.

Elizabeth Mensink and Nair teamed up on a two-hit shutout.

Mensink went the first four innings, allowing both hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Nair finished up with a perfect fifth, striking out two of the three batters she faced.

Tigeris Quinn led off the game with single for Oaks and Jennae Warren singled in the fourth.

Nair went 4-for-4 with a double for the Lady Bears (10-6).

Bartley contributed a double and single while Mensink, Branham, Grace Parmley and Kylee Severs each had a base hit.
