STILWELL — Miami swept a District 4A-6 home-and-home fastpitch softball series with Stilwell.

The Lady Wardogs rolled 11-0 Monday, Aug. 28, at Turner Field, then claimed a 12-2 decision Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Stilwell.

With the sweep, Miami improved to 5-2 in the district, good for fourth place behind Grove (6-1), Vinita (5-1) and Oologah (3-1).

The Lady Wardogs, who are idle until Sept. 7 when they begin play in the Wyandotte Tournament, are 10-2 overall.

Miami 12, Stilwell 2

The Lady Wardogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back.

Stilwell got its runs in the bottom of the first then Miami countered with three in the third, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Everybody in the Lady Wardog lineup had at least one hit, except for Kori Robison, and she was hit by a pitch and walked three times. She also had an RBI. Phoenix Burrow also had three walks and two RBIs.

The Lady Wardogs benefitted from six walks and four hit batters.

Robison was hit by a pitch to force in Miami’s first run in the opening frame.

A bases-loaded walk to Burrow pushed in a run and Jordan Quapaw delivered an RBI single.

Robison scored on a wild pitch then Alexa Payne ripped a two-run triple to make it 6-0.

Rebecca Bell went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Winning pitcher Abby Ishmael and Jordan Davis had two singles each.

Quapaw had two hits and drove in three runs, including two in the fifth inning on a double.

Payne tripled and Jessie Ishmael and Lauren Willard each had a single.

Stilwell had three hits, two in the first inning when the Lady Indians got their two runs.

Abby Ishmael struck out six and walked one.

Miami 11, Stilwell 0

Abby Ishmael had a five-hit shutout in Monday’s game, which lasted only five innings.

She struck out five and walked none.

The Lady Wardogs pushed a 2-0 lead to 5-0 in the third. They erupted for four runs in the fourth and added two more in the fifth.

Bell and Abby Ishmael both went 3-for-3 with each scoring all three times they reached base. Ishmael drove in two runs with three runs scored.

Quapaw finished with two doubles and three RBIs while Robison had a double and single and three RBIs.

Davis collected two singles while Burrow and Lauren Willard each had a hit.
