KETCHUM — Wyandotte erupted for nine runs in its final at-bat and rolled to a 17-1 fastpitch softball victory over Ketchum here Tuesday, Aug. 29.
The Lady Bears (9-6) carried an 8-1 lead into the seventh, when they sent 15 batters to the plate.
Elizabeth Mensink drove in three runs with an RBI double and two-run single.
Ally Bartley singled home a run and Madelyn Branham picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly.
Kallie Morisset, Kyah Enyart, Haley Hart, and Grace Parmley forced in runs with bases-loaded walks.
Aranda and Elizabeth Mensink combined on a one-hitter for Wyandotte.
Nair worked the first three innings, allowing no hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Mensink pitched the final four, yielding Ketchum’s only hit and run. She fanned 10 and walked two.
Ketchum’s only hit was a fourth-inning single.
Jennifer Lundien went 4-for-4 with a triple, double and three RBIs for the Lady Bears.
Mensink added a double and single while Kylee Severs collected two singles.
Makinze Powell doubled and Haley Hart and Ally Bartley singled.
Wyandotte 13, Seneca 7
The Lady Bears scored runs in each of the first five innings to open up a 13-1 advantage.
Seneca got four runs in the fifth and added two more in the bottom of the seventh.
Nair, Mensink, Bartley and Morisset had two singles each for the Lady Bears.
Powell doubled and Lundien, Hart, Severs and Parmley had a single each.
Mensink went the first 6.1 innings, with Nair finishing up. They combined for four strikeouts and three walks.
Only four of Seneca’s runs were earned as the Lady Bears had four errors.
Chelsea Beville collected three singles for the Lady Indians.
Mekaylee Beard added a double and single while Adron Durman chipped in with two singles.
Mikayla French singled.
