COMMERCE — Scoring all of its runs in the first three innings, Commerce rolled to an 11-2 victory over Bluejacket in a fastpitch softball game here Monday, Aug. 28.

The Lady Tigers (8-7) scored three times in the first inning. Ashley Barton singled home the first run then River Friel drove in two with a base hit.

CHS erupted for five runs thanks to a two-run triple by Barton. An error on a ball hit by Cori Wells allowed two runs to score and the eighth came home on a wild pitch.

Two more runs scored on an error and Rhyane Hallett picked up an RBI with a sacrifice.

Barton had a triple and single for the Lady Tigers.

Morgan Ballard, Friel, Laney Smith and Sunny Crawford all added singles.

Bluejacket had three singles off Barton, who struck out seven and walked none.

Losing pitcher Haven Kelly also had two of the Lady Chieftains’ hits. Laura Collins added a single.
