BLUEJACKET — A 30-point third quarter helped Bluejacket take charge in a 60-31 road win over Wright Christian Friday, Aug. 25.
The Chieftains led only 16-7 after one, the saw Wright narrow the gap to 24-17 by intermission.
Five touchdowns in the third quarter enabled Bluejacket to open up some breathing room.
Quarterback Coy McGlasson accounted for 479 total yards.
He completed 12 of 25 passes for 267 yards and a pair of scores.
McGlasson also ran for 212 yards and three scores on 20 attempts.
Sophomore running back Charles Spiegel gained 124 yards on 13 attempts.
Keegan Francis and Cooper Decker added rushing TDs.
James Walters was Bluejacket’s leading receiver with five catches for 143 yards and two scores.
Reuben Torres caught three passes for 29 yards and Decker and Spiegel snagged two passes each.
Torres and Decker had 13 tackles each for the Chieftains. Decker logged 11 solos and two assists while Torres had four solos and nine assists.
Bluejacket had nine quarterback sacks for 65 yards in losses.
Torres had 3.5 for minus 20 yards and Curtis Pierce logged 2.5 sacks for yards.
Micah Baker had 2.0 and Decker logged 1.0.
