LOCUST GROVE — Miami rallied from a three-run deficit to claim an 8-7 victory over Locust Grove here Tuesday, Aug. 22.

The Lady Wardogs rolled to a 6-0 victory at Jay on Monday, Aug. 21.

The Lady Pirates went up 7-2 in the fourth, but Miami picked up single runs in the fifth and sixth.

Then in the seventh, Jordan Davis delivered a two-run double and an RBI double by Alexa Payne.

A single by Jordan Quapaw drove in what turned out to be the winning run.

Locust Grove threatened in the bottom of the seventh via a one-out walk and two-out error, but winning pitcher Abby Ishmael wiggled out of trouble with a grounder back to her.

Jordan Davis had three singles and three RBIs while Rebecca Bell collected three singles

Jordan Quapaw delivered an RBI double and single while Ishmael had two singles.

Alexa Payne chipped in with an RBI double and Phoenix Burrow singled.

Abby Ishmael yielded five single while striking out three, walking one and hitting one batter.

The Lady Bulldogs left eight runners stranded and had runners at third three times. They lost a runner at home in the first inning.

Miami jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Kori Robison and Burrow.

The Lady Wardogs added four more runs in the fifth and picked up a final two in the sixth, one coming on a leadoff homer by Quapaw.

Quapaw had a single to go with her home run. Jessie Ishmael had a double and single while Bell contributed two singles.

Robison, Burrow and Davis had a single each.
