AFTON — Scoring runs in every inning, Fairland coasted to an 11-3 victory over Afton here Tuesday, Aug. 15.

The game was tied at 2-2 after one, but the Lady Owls took the lead for good in the second with a run.

Fairland got another run in the third then scored four times in the fourth and got another three tallies in the fifth.

Afton scored its final run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Winning pitcher Nikki Dingle struck out five and walked one while limiting the Lady Eagles to four hits — a double and single by Taylie Burrow and singles by Carlee Shinn and Sabrina Betz.

Kyndall Davis had three singles for Fairland, which also got two base hits from Dingle.

Jenna Morgan doubled and Chelsey Dushane and Madison Stotts chipped in with a single each.

Fairland 4, Commerce 0

The Lady Owls had six hits, but also benefitted from six Commerce errors as well and six walks.

Fairland scored three times in the third and once in the fourth.

Davis, Dushane, Stotts, Lilly Triplett, Alexis McGranahan and Dingle all had a single.

Dingle had a season-best 12 strikeouts and walked two.

Morgan Ballard had a double and single while Morgan Connell, Marisa Scott and Miriam Nino each had a single.
