OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association made football, baseball and fast-pitch softball districts official during its Wednesday, Aug. 8 board meeting.

District assignments and district numbers for area schools remained the same as that proposed by the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association:

District 4A-3: Oologah, Grove, Bristow, Tulsa McLain, Catoosa, Miami, Cleveland, Wagoner

District 2A-4: Adair, Chelsea, Chouteau, Kansas, Metro Christian, Nowata, Salina, Wyandotte

District A-6: Afton, Colcord, Commerce, Fairland, Ketchum, Oklahoma Union, Rejoice Christian, Quapaw

District C-3: Bluejacket, Copan, Covington-Douglas, Coyle, Deer Creek-Lamont, Medford, Southwest Covenant, Welch

The biggest move locally has Commerce dropping down to Class A for at least the next two years.

Commerce and Oklahoma Union drop to Class A and Metro plunges from Class 4A.

Chouteau, Kansas and Salina slide over from District 2A-7. Caney Valley now is in 2A-2.

District 4A-3 now is made up of Miami, Grove, Catoosa, Wagoner, Oologah, Tulsa McLain, Bristow and Cleveland.

Bristow and Cleveland sub out Tulsa Cascia Hall and Vinita, both of which drop down to 3A.

Bristow moves up from 3A and Cleveland switches from District 4A-2.

Wyandotte, Adair, Chelsea and Nowata are the only holdovers from what had been District 2A-8 the previous two seasons.

They will be in a new 2A-3 that includes Chouteau, Kansas, Tulsa Metro Christian and Salina.

Afton, Commerce, Fairland and Quapaw were assigned to District A-7 along with Colcord, Hulbert, Ketchum, Oklahoma Union and Rejoice Christian.

In addition to Commerce and Oklahoma Union, Colcord and Ketchum are down from Class 2A.

Barnsdall shifts to District A-5 and Foyil will drop back down to eight-man football.

District C-3 includes Bluejacket, Welch, Copan, Covington-Douglas, Deer Creek Lamont, Medford and Southwest Covenant.

Coyle shifts over from District C-4 and this will be the first cycle for Southwest Covenant to play as an OSSAA member.

Pond Creek Hunter goes to C-1 and Regent Prep moves up to Class B.

Classes 6A, 5A and 4A use a district play format for baseball and softball.

Miami will be in baseball District 4A-5 with Tulsa Webster, Grove, Jay, Locust Grove. Oologah, Verdigris and Vinita.

Softball District 4A-6 has Miami along with Grove, Jay, Locust Grove, Oologah, Claremore Sequoyah, Stilwell and Vinita.
