MIAMI — Seventeen freshmen recruits are expected to report for preseason workouts in August for the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen soccer program according to head coach John Parrigon.
NEO has won two consecutive Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships with a 2-2-2 record. The Norsemen finished 11-5-2 on the year.
Four signees are goalkeepers including Bryce Henery, Lawton McArthur; Darrius Silversmith, Claremore; Tyler Large, Coweta and Francisco J. Garcia, Van Buren, Arkansas.
Midfielders joining the Golden Norsemen are Draye Richey, Noble; Cameron Eaves, Coweta; Matt Hanson, Wales and Robert Ramos, Brazil. Eaves can also play a forward spot.
Pedro Yazeji, from Brazil, will split duties between the midfield and a wing.
Joey Clem, from Nix, Missouri, signed as a forward.
Seven freshmen prospects will compete for playing time as defenders including three student/athletes from England. Jack Holmes, Samuel Wiltermood and Damian Lindo join the Norsemen from England.
Other freshmen defenders include Javier Lira, Oklahoma City; Aaron Main, Sapulpa; Jacob Meadows and John Morgan, both from Coweta.
