MONKEY ISLAND — Hilldale swept team honors at the Verdigris Valley Conference golf tournament at Shangri-La Wednesday.

The Hilldale boys turned in a winning score of 317 while the Lady Hornets posted a 333.

Hilldale’s boys had five of the top individuals, paced by Grant Sikes’ 72.

The Hornets’ Colby Cox was second at 79, Caleb York fourth at 81, Kurrin Finch seventh at 85 and Jeriah Steward eighth at 86.

Miami’s Jack Osborn was sixth at 83. That earned him all-conference honors.

Others earning all-conference were Soulai Vang, Oologah, third, 80; Cooper Young, Oologah, fifth, 81, and Kennedy Cook, Fort Gibson, ninth, 88.

The Wardogs finished third as a team at 359.

Gavin Payton turned in an 88, followed by Kaleb Jinks, 91; Joe Lillard, 97, and Lane Giles, 105.

Oologah was a distant second at 349 and the Wardogs were 10 strokes behind.

Rounding out the field were Fort Gibson, 370; Claremore Sequoyah, 396; Verdigris, 399; Wagoner, 400, and Inola, 443.

Miami’s girls were sixth overall with a team score of 448.

Maddie Arnold had the Lady Wardogs’ low score, 105.

Cali Mercer and Kieley Hallett, had rounds of 113, followed by Bailee Vowels, 117, and Sierra Burrow, 124.

Following Hilldale in the girls’ team standings were Hilldale, 333; Fort Gison, 363; Verdigris, 393; Oologah, 426; Catoosa, 430; Miami, 448, and Wagoner, 461.

Shelby Phillips of Fort Gibson had the individual low round for the girls with a 76.

Jordan Clayborn of Hilldale was third at 79, followed by Katie Kirkhart, Hilldale, 82; Shelby McGlothlin Hilldale, 83, and Fort Gibson’s Rachel Psomas and Abby Psomas, and Allison Cunningham and Kayla Morton of Hilldale all had rounds of 89.
