WYANDOTTE — A nine-run fourth inning broke open a close game and sent Wyandotte on its way to a 16-4 win over Ketchum in slow-pitch softball action here Tuesday.

The Lady Bears (2-1) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second then each team scored a run in the third.

Wyandotte sent 14 batters to the plate during its nine-run rally. The Lady Bears collected 10 of their 13 hits during the burst.

Ketchum narrowed the gap to 14-4 with three runs in the top of the fifth, but WHS ended the game by scoring two times in the home half of the fifth.

Grace Parmley had a double and single for the Lady Bears, who also got two singles each from Maddie Branham, Amber Garrett and Jillian Swanger.

Kylee Severs delivered a two-run homer in the second inning and Katie Hart had a solo shot in the third.

Tarrah Stephens doubled and Lynnea Cox and Micah Wendelken each had a single.

The Lady Bears are idle until March 21, when they travel to Fairland.
