MIAMI — The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Athletic Department will host Team Jaelee Night on Thursday, Feb. 9 as the men’s and women’s basketball teams host Seminole State College.

Co-sponsored by NEO Athletics and J&M Farms, this event will honor six-year-old Jaelee Munson as she battles cancer.

The Lady Norse will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. and the Golden Norse will tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can earn free admission to the games by wearing their #TeamJaelee t-shirts, which are still available but in short supply at the NEO Athletic Office.

Youth and adult sizes small-XL are $10 and size XXL is $12. All the proceeds from the shirt sales will be donated to Munson’s family.

A photo booth will also be available in the lobby for attendees to post photos on social media showing support by using #TeamJaelee.

There will be opportunities to donate to Team Jaelee throughout the evening.

Jaelee is a first grader at Quapaw Elementary and is the daughter of Kevin and Casie Scott-Munson of Quapaw.

She was diagnosed with Metastatic Neuroblastoma on April 5, 2016 where a cantaloupe-sized tumor had attached itself to her adrenal gland.

“NEO Athletics is honored to be a part of Team Jaelee,” said NEO athletic director Dale Patterson. “Her mom played softball for Coach (Eric) Iverson and her dad was a wide receiver for the Golden Norse football team and they are part of the NEO athletic family.

“We believe in our saying ‘Once a Norseman – Always a Norseman’ and Jaelee is a part of our family too. All of our programs have rallied around this brave girl and are wishing her the very best.”

Lady Norse softball will also host a Team Jaelee Game, sponsored by J&M Farms, on Saturday, Feb. 11, with free admission for fans wearing Team Jaelee t-shirts.
