WELCH — Justin Lundy and Dakota Handke teamed up for 54 points as Oklahoma Union rolled to an 86-58 victory over Welch here Tuesday night.

Oklahoma Union also claimed a 59-48 win in the girls’ game.

Lundy finished with 32 points and Handke added 22 for the Cougars.

Oklahoma Union got 25 points in the first quarter and led 50-25 at the half.

Welch held a 22-19 edge in the third then the visitors created the final margin with a 15-11 advantage in the fourth.

Nolan Schaper and Trenton Seigel scored 17 points each for the Wildcats.

Blake Brannon added six, followed by Colton Armstrong with four, Nate Beaty with three and Chase Herd.

Girls: Oklahoma Union 59, Welch 48

The Lady Cougars stretched a 16-8 first-quarter lead into a 28-22 halftime advantage.

OU (13-4) pulled away again in the third quarter with an 18-12 edge.

Welch (13-6) created the final margin with a 15-12 run in the fourth quarter.

Three players reached double figures for the Lady Wildcats. Jaeli Jorgenson finished with 17, Hailey Haskell had 14 and Olivia Chenoweth kicked in 10.

Maddi Schaper scored three points while Aspen Wood and Olivia Pitcher had two each.

Rebecca Lundy scored 22 points for the Lady Cougars.

Welch hosts Colcord Friday night.
