COMMERCE — Commerce claimed a pair of wins over Foyil here Tuesday night.
The Lady Tigers picked up a 40-31 win before the CHS boys logged a 41-31 victory.
The Commerce girls saw a 13-11 first-quarter lead dwindle to 22-21 at intermission.
The Lady Tigers (4-11) pulled away in the second half with 11-6 and 7-4 margins.
Morgan Ballard’s 17 points topped the scoring for CHS. Morgan Connell joined her in double figures with 12.
Gracie Bundy, Sunny Crawford and Reghan Trease had three points each and Josalynn Barr scored two for the Lady Tigers.
Kassidy West had 14 points for Foyil (4-10).
Boys: Commerce 41, Foyil 31
The Tigers held a 5-4 edge in the opening frame then padded it to 21-15 at the half.
Commerce (7-9) used 13-10 and 7-6 margins in the final two quarters.
Carlos Pinales was the Tigers’ leading scorer with nine points.
Isaac Shelton added eight, followed by Stefan Blankenship with seven, Hunter Burkybile and Donnie Brown with six each and Josue Dominguez with five.
Foyil (3-10) was led by Tanner Pierce’s 11 points.
Commerce travels to Quapaw Friday night.
