FAIRLAND — Fairland picked up a pair of wins against Quapaw on Saturday.

The Lady Owls rolled to a 57-27 victory before the FHS boys picked up a 57-39 win in the nightcap.

Fairland stretched a 6-5 first-quarter lead into a 19-11 lead at intermission.

The Lady Owls broke the game open with a 22-7 burst in the third, then outscored Quapaw 16-9 in the fourth.

Vanna Crosby had a game-high 19 points, followed by Kyndall Davis with 11 and Nikki Dingle with 10.

The Lady Owls also got five from Brooke Tudor, four from Breanne Johnson, three each from Savannah Hutchison and Starla York and two from Olivia Carpenter.

MaKenzie Thomasson’s 14 points topped the Quapaw scoring.

Kiana Turner netted six, followed by Brittany Tyree with three and Chloe White and Trinity Lasswell with two each.

Boys: Fairland 57, Quapaw 39

The Owls broke out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter. Quapaw held 11-9 and 12-11 edges in the second and third frames then FHS had a 15-11 margin in the final stanza.

Tyler Graham headed up the Fairland scoring with 18 points. Bryson Cottrell had 17.

Isaac Matthews tallied eight and Trevor Graham scored two.

Rex Burkybile had 10 points for Quapaw, which also got nine from Jonas Gregory, eight from Joe Baker, three each for Tyler Lee and Caleb Hoffman and two each from Nick Hemphill, Drayven Blunk and Trevor White.

Quapaw travels to Afton and Fairland is at Wyandotte Tuesday night.
