KETCHUM — Breaking out to a 23-9 lead in the first quarter, the Class 2A No. 9 Ketchum boys rolled to a 90-43 win over Welch Friday night.

The Warriors, 17-2 following a 69-59 loss against Sperry Saturday night, carried a 42-20 lead at the half.

Ketchum exploded for 34 points in the third quarter then held a 14-12 edge over the final eight minutes.

Three players scored in double figures for the Warriors, topped by Jayden Martin with 22 points.

Nolan Schaper had team-high 10 points for Welch (4-14).

Braxton Turner, Blake Brannon and Seth Hayward had eight points each while Chase Herd added six. Colton Armstrong chipped in with three points.

Girls: Ketchum 49, Welch 28

A 32-11 advantage in the second half helped Ketchum (13-5) hurdle the Lady Wildcats.

The hosts had carried an 18-17 lead into the half, but outscored Welch 13-5 in the third quarter.

The Lady Warriors nailed down the win with an 18-6 run in the fourth.

Olivia Chenoweth and Hailey Haskell scored seven points each for Welch (13-5), followed by Maddi Schaper with four, Jayci Atwood and Aspen Wood with three each, and Jaeli Jorgenson and Olivia Pitcher with two each.

Hannah Lee had 12 for Ketchum.

Welch hosts Oklahoma Union Tuesday night.
