MIAMI — A 15-0 run by the Tulsa East Central JV spanning the third and fourth quarters helped unravel Miami during a 55-33 loss in a Girls Gold consolation game at the 72nd annual NEO High School Basketball Tournament presented by American Bus Sales.

Miami faces Tulsa McLain at noon Saturday at the Miami Activity Center in the seventh-place game.

Miami had narrowed the gap to 30-23 with 67 seconds left in the third quarter bumped the gap to 10, then the Lady Cards scored the first 12 points of the final stanza to open up a 45-23 lead.

Tori Lofgren stemmed the bleeding with a bucket from inside with 4:35 remaining, but the Lady Wardogs would only get seven points the rest of the game.

East Central was up 13-4 after the opening frame, but MHS cut the gap to 21-14 at intermission.

The Lady Cardinals held a 12-9 advantage in the third quarter.

Tara Linton scored seven for the Lady Wardogs. Jewel Cunningham had five points, followed by Rebecca Bell, Abby Osborn and Tori Lofgren with four each.

Kaki Barlow had three points and Shelby Hubbard, Bayleigh Beckwith and Mary Gilbert with two each.

Shametrionna Story had 12 points to head up East Central’s scoring. Jurnee Elliott and Ty'najah Mitchell scored 11 and 10, respectively.
