COPAN — Copan claimed a 55-50 overtime victory over Bluejacket’s boys here Friday night.
The Chieftains used a 14-12 edge in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then were outscored 11-6 in the extra period.
Bluejacket stretched a 7-3 first-quarter lead into a 28-23 halftime advantage.
Copan (8-2) turned things around with a 9-2 margin in the third period.
Kawlan Rogers and Ryder Blackfox were Bluejacket’s top scorers with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Coy McGlasson and Justin Pape scored nine each, followed by Jake Adamson with six and Gabe Satterwhite and Cooper Decker with two each.
Kirk Foreman had 20 points and Dylan Williams added 18 for Copan.
Girls: Bluejacket 60, Copan 37
Three players scored in double figures to help the Bluejacket girls chalk up a 60-37 victory over Copan.
The Lady Chieftains turned a 14-4 edge in the opening frame and padded that to 30-13 by intermission.
Bluejacket exploded for 25 points in the third frame then held on as Copan held a 14-5 edge over the final eight minutes.
Lydia Pipins and Sophie Windle scored 14 points each and Tori Anderson added 13 for the Lady Chieftains.
They got points from six other players: Deedee Satterwhite, six; Tiffany Ayres, four; Laura Collins, three, and Lexi Winfrey, Cameran Bluejacket and Sidney Windle, two each.
Winter Williams had 15 points for Copan.
Bluejacket hosts Watts on Tuesday.
